Join us every 2nd Saturday of the month, all day (10am to 4pm), for our SEN Friendly Days.
This is an opportunity for visitors with additional or sensory needs to enjoy the museum with friends and carers, in a more relaxed atmosphere. Sound effects around the galleries will be turned down or off and a large, quiet break out room is available, in the Wells Suite on the first floor of the Museum of Chelmsford (accessed via the main Museum entrance).
A chill out space will be open on the first floor where you are able to relax, eat and drink if anyone in your group needs a break.
Hand driers in the toilets will be switched off on these Saturdays, as will sounds effects in the exhibitions.
Ear defenders and fidget toys will be available to borrow from our friendly welcome team at the front desk.
The Hive café will allow visitors to bring any safe foods with them into their seating areas, with adults who are ordering food of their menu.
