Inspired by the discovery of the Great Baddow Hoard and its collection of buried Iron Age coins, this exhibition asks a simple question: what is treasure?

While archaeologists may uncover treasure beneath the ground, students from Chelmsford College have explored the treasures that exist within everyday life. Through photography, mixed media and creative interpretation, they challenge traditional ideas of value and invite visitors to consider what matters most to them.

Across the exhibition, treasure is revealed not simply as something rare, precious or valuable in a monetary sense, but as something deeply personal. It may be a memory, a place, a person, a passion, a moment of beauty or a connection to the world around us.

Created by Level 3 Year 2 Film and Photography students at Chelmsford College, these works reflect a diverse range of perspectives and experiences.
