During our free Heritage Open Days weekend, join our tour guide Rachel as she returns with one of her popular talks as Mrs Wells, the wife of the former Oaklands House owner Fred Wells.

Hear what was life like for the family of eight at Oaklands and the roles of their many servants. All against the backdrop of the beautiful Victorian Kitchen and Hallway. Each tour will last approximately 20 minutes.

The Museum is free to enter over the Heritage Open Days weekend. The tour is free to attend but spaces are limited, so make sure you secure your place with a booking. Can't attend? Make sure you cancel so we can offer the place to someone else.

More details on the servants at Oaklands can be heard in Episode 4 of our podcast which is available from Friday 18 September on all of your favourite podcast platforms. Catch up on the latest episodes by searching 'The Chelmsford Broadcast'.
