The exhibition 'Keep Curious' by Blake Walker features paintings and mixed media art including skateboard decks and other unique pieces. Blake describes his process as 'without intention', using bold colours and a wide range of materials and mediums to achieve his visual style.
"My work exists in a space of exploration, driven by curiosity, a pull toward adventure, and the desire to understand who we are when nobody’s watching.
"I’m drawn to a cast of characters, named the ‘Walkers’, capturing them as a playful reflection of real human emotion and my own voice, embodying themes I hold close. They work almost like a visual diary, where I translate real-life happenings and things I don’t have the words to describe into these characters.
"They carry the weight of the real world, but are still far enough removed that they allow me to remove myself from it, observe and process. I hope the work resonates with those who see the world through a uniquely personal lens." - Blake Walker
This exhibition is part of our Gallery Wall programme in partnership with Ignite Chelmsford. The Gallery Wall programme at the Museum of Chelmsford provides a platform for local creatives or creative groups to exhibit their work in a professional setting.
