A young child handles some of the objects on a red table with two museum volunteers

Join our volunteers to explore items from the museum collection up close. You will be able to handle objects, guess their history and learn the interesting facts about each item!

Here are some questions you might learn the answers to when you visit our Hands on History table:

How chunky is that mobile phone?
How did Romans clean their ears?
How many teeth did a shark have?
Is that real?!

Visit us in the Victorian Hall (or ask the friendly team on our front desk to check on the location) on the following dates and times:

  • Saturday 23 May, 10.30am to 12.30pm

  • Monday 25 May, 10.30am to 12.30pm
